Dear August Boeger Community,

It is with great pride and excitement that we share some wonderful news with our entire August Boeger community.

Following a recent site visit, our Leaning In Initiative – Improving Outcomes for Students through Civic Education & Engagement Program has been selected as a recipient of the 2026 Glenn W. Hoffmann Exemplary Program Award. This prestigious recognition honors innovative programs that make a meaningful and measurable impact on student success—and our program stood out among many.

The visiting committee was deeply impressed not only by the strength of the program, but by the powerful impact it is having on our students. This recognition is a direct reflection of the collective commitment, passion, and dedication of our faculty, staff, the support of our district leadership and Board, and the engagement of our families and community.

As part of this honor, the SCCOE media team will be partnering with us to produce a short video highlighting our program. This video will be showcased at the Hoffmann Awards Dinner and shared more broadly with our community, offering an opportunity to celebrate and amplify the important work happening at our school.

We are also excited to share that our program will be formally recognized at the Hoffmann Awards Dinner on Wednesday, May 13th, from 5:30–8:30 p.m. at the MetroED Campus in San Jose. We look forward to celebrating this milestone and representing our community at this special event. Tickets will be made available for purchase in the near future. I will let you know when they become available.
