Meet the Principal
Welcome! ¡Bienvenidos! Chào mừng!
Dear August Boeger Students, Families/Caregivers, and Community,
Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! On behalf of our entire August Boeger Team, I am excited to welcome back our returning Bobcats and extend a special greeting to the students and families joining our school community for the first time. We are looking forward to another year of learning, growth, leadership, and success.
As I begin my fourth year as principal of August Boeger Middle School, I continue to feel incredibly grateful and honored to serve this remarkable community. Together, we have strengthened our instructional programs, expanded opportunities for students, built meaningful partnerships with families and community organizations, and celebrated many accomplishments. Most importantly, we have continued to create a school where every student is known, valued, challenged, and supported.
I am proud to have dedicated the majority of my 29-year career to serving students and families in East San Jose.
August Boeger is a school where students are encouraged to think critically, lead with integrity, and make a positive difference in their community. Through our AVID Schoolwide program, Community School, Wellness Center, student leadership opportunities, student life, athletics, arts, civic education, and college and career readiness initiatives, we remain committed to developing the whole child while preparing every student for high school and beyond. Our collective efforts have earned recognition as both a California and National School to Watch, the California Civic Learning Award of Distinction and Honorable Mention, and the Glenn W. Hoffmann Award for our innovative Leaning In Initiative, accomplishments that reflect the dedication of our students, staff, families, and community partners.
As we begin this new school year, I invite our families to remain active partners in their children's education. Your involvement, encouragement, and collaboration are essential to our students' success. Together, we will continue to cultivate a safe, welcoming, and inclusive learning environment where every Bobcat has the opportunity to achieve their full potential.
I also encourage every Bobcat to embrace new challenges, demonstrate kindness and respect, and strive to do their very best each day. I cannot wait to see our campus filled with the energy, enthusiasm, and smiles of our students once again.
Welcome back, Bobcats! Let's make the 2026–2027 school year our best one yet!
Gooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Bobcats!
Principal Raquel Topete
