Our AB Promotion is right around the corner. We can't wait to celebrate our 8th graders on June 11th at 3:00 pm. Below is information on promotion pictures that will be taken on the day of our 8th grade promotion for your review and preparation.

Always Be On Your Best Behavior...
A Message From Ms. Topete
We also want to remind everyone to be on their best behavior every day. We want our students to know that their decisions always come with consequences – positive or negative. We want everyone to not only feel and be safe, but to enjoy coming to school every day. 8th graders need to be reminded that their actions determine whether they will attend remaining field trips, whether they may attend our promotion dance, and whether they will be able to cross the stage during our end of the year 8th grade promotion. Please help us remind our scholars to think before they act!

Awards Video
To help minimize time in the heat, we will be honoring our special awardees before the promotion ceremony via a shared video.
We will also say the students’ names during Promotion and acknowledge them.
Memories Video
We will have a Memories Video created as a memento that will be shared with families via email and posted.
Thank you for sharing your student’s photo collages. They are due May 13th by 3:00 pm.
Promotion
- Signs are ok. If you have a large sign, please sit in the back as to not block other’s view.
- Please no noise makers
- Balloons will be collected and returned at the end of the ceremony, as they do block the view of our families. You are also welcome to leave them in your car and get them at the end of the ceremony.
- If you bring an umbrella, please sit in the back as to not block other’s view
- Leis are welcomed
- Graduation caps will not be worn
- Highly suggest no high heels for our students
Special Gifts
8th graders who earned a 4.0 each trimester in each grade level (6-8) will receive a cord.

Support
Should you need any support due to financial hardship or other circumstance, please let Ms. Valeria Cazares (vcazares@mpesd.org)) know as soon as possible. We want all students to have what they need and be able to participate.
This is totally confidential.
Parking
- You may park in the AB parking lot. Parking is limited.
- Parking in the neighborhood is available
- If you can walk, it is helpful and highly recommended
Logistics
- Students are out at 12:30 pm on June 11th
- Students need to be back on campus at the latest at 2:00 pm
- Clothes may be formal or informal. Just make sure that it is appropriate. No red or blue.
- Students must have a royal blue promotion gown
- Promotion certificates will be given after the ceremony
- Make sure that prior to promotion (when requested)...
- Chromebooks and chargers are turned in
- Library books have also all been returned
- Repayment has been completed for lost textbooks or damaged Chromebooks
- All sports team jerseys returned or repayment completed, if needed
- Doors will be open for parents at 2:30 pm.
- Seating is on a first come, first serve basis.
- There will be perimeters set. Please respect the perimeters and boundaries set.
- There will be 600 chairs available for all participants. You are certainly welcome to bring your own seating. Yet, please again respect the perimeter set forth and sit behind arranged seating.
- There are no tickets for guests or a set minimum for how many people you may invite. Yet, keep in mind that seating is on a first come, first serve basis and limited.
